Entre 2005 y 2013, el n\u00famero de nuevas infecciones solo ha descendido un 3%, en contraste con la ca\u00edda del 28% en todo el mundo, seg\u00fan el informe <a href=\"http:\/\/ep00.epimg.net\/descargables\/2014\/07\/15\/af1da747cfd1bb233d64d9ac04939ab1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">The Gap Report<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/a> de la agencia de las Naciones Unidas <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unaids.org\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">Onusida<\/span><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Se estima que 10 personas contraen el virus cada hora en la regi\u00f3n, donde hay 1,6 millones de habitantes con VIH seg\u00fan los \u00faltimos datos de 2013, lo que representa el 4,5% del total de afectados en el mundo (35 millones).
